Results
Table 1 contains the results from testing.
The initial ten impacts without headbands produced peak G values of 652.4 G’s.
With the headbands introduced, impact absorption (i.e. the ratio between no head
band versus with headband) demonstrated values between 36% and 83% (average of three impacts).
In general, impact performance degraded with repeated impact, indicating some temporary
or permanent crushing behavior of the foam (Figure 2).
In general, the VN foams provided better impact absorption (Figures 2 & 3).
